For too long the church has been about the business of
making converts rather than
making disciples. We have been
enamored with programs rather than with people.
Religion has taken precedent over
relationships. Mentoring Ministries was birthed out of
a passion to see vibrant discipling and mentoring
relationships enabled and
encouraged. Fifteen years ago in the midst of a program
based ministry, Mentoring
Ministries founder, Daryl Donovan heard a clear
prompting from the Spirit of God to
invest his life in the making of
disciples. He began to write materials and meet with
men, one-on-one and in small
groups. Dr. Donovan saw marriages restored, families
strengthened and men become vital
witnesses for Jesus Christ. By a sovereign work
of God the door opened for the
publication of Dr. Donovan's materials.
Mentoring Ministries has been formed and developed to
provide resources to en-courage
discipling and mentoring relationships that will build
up the Body of Christ; and
will facilitate the spreading of the gospel of Jesus
Christ to the world.
New resources are being developed, including mentoring
tools for women, teens,
and even the handicapped.
Mentoring Seminars are available to be brought to the
local church with very little
expense to facilitate mentoring relationships.
Jesus was the master mentor and He has called us to do
the same. A true disciple
is a mentor who makes a spiritual
deposit in the life of another for the sake of
the Kingdom.
